Blue Ridge Heritage Project Monument
The Blue Ridge Heritage Project is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build monuments to honor the people who were displaced by the creation of Shenandoah National Park. Eight counties from which mountain residents were relocated have monuments: Madison, Page, Rockingham, Greene, Rappahannock, Albemarle, Warren, and Augusta. Most of the monument sites include exhibits about the families. We invite you to visit these gateway communities and the beautiful monuments and learn about the people who sacrificed their homes for the establishment of Shenandoah.
