Downtown Harrisonburg is once again proving to be a haven for music enthusiasts! The Levitt AMP Harrisonburg Music Series has returned for its second year, bringing a vibrant mix of genres and styles ranging from Country/Pop/Neo-Soul to Latin Folk Rock and more. From now until September 11, you can enjoy a FREE concert every Wednesday (except July 24 and August 28), with a different group or artist taking the stage each week to offer a diverse range of sounds and vibes that promise to delight audiences of all tastes.
One week, you might find yourself dancing to the infectious beats of Florencia & The Feeling, a pop-funk fusion group known for their high-energy performances. Another week, you could be captivated by The Claudettes, a Chicago-based band that masterfully blends blues, rock, soul, and jazz. With Johnny Iguana’s piano-driven melodies and the band’s dynamic stage presence, The Claudettes bring a fresh and vibrant take on American roots music, earning critical acclaim and a growing fan base. The concert series is made possible and free to all by Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance through a grant by the Levitt Foundation, which activates underused outdoor spaces with free, live music to bring people together and invigorate community life.
Each week, the food and drink offerings are as much of a highlight as the performances themselves. Guests aged 21+ can enjoy the beer garden, stocked by a different local craft beverage producer each week. You’ll find local favorites like Sage Bird Ciderworks pulling up in their Hitchhiker Tap Trailer or Restless Moons with their refreshing small-batch brews, ensuring there’s always something new and exciting to try.
Additionally, Magpie Diner will be offering pre-orders for a special Summer Picnic each week. Order online at magpiediner.com before noon on Sunday the week of the concert and pick up your picnic at the Turner Pavilion between 5:30-6:30 pm from the Magpie table. Choose from delightful picnic themes like:
